God’s Love

By: Pastor Jarren Rogers

“The great thing to remember is that though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.” – C. S. Lewis

Gosh, I wish the world would understand just how much God loves them.  There are some days that I forget how much He loves me. What about you?
How many tears would be wiped away, burdens lifted, sins forgotten, chains broken, emotional scars healed, if we stopped and simply experienced the deep and rich, amazing love of God!

God’s love for you has no end! There is nothing you have done or could do that would separate you from Christ’s love. When no one knew my name. When no one else loved me…God did.

The deepest oceans, the greatest distances, the infinite expanse of outer space can’t even come close to the length, width, height, and breadth of God’s love for you!
You didn’t have to earn it! It was freely given to you! God loved you before you were even formed in the womb.

There are people in our world who don’t know God’s love! They don’t know that there is an infinite Creator whose entire Being loves them more than the farthest reaches of their imagination.

Now that I have experienced the great and powerful love of Christ, I can never ever go back. I don’t want to live one minute, one second, one breath, one blink  outside total connectedness to His love. I need to feel the warmth of His love resting softly on my heart. I can’t live without His Spirit breathing peace into my soul. I can’t stand without the strength of my God behind me.

As I write this, I’m listening to a song called “Closer”. It says: I need your love like I need water. I need your love like I need breath inside of my lungs.

I was made to be firmly planted Christ’s love. To breath it in and out. To speak it, to act it out, to live inside of it. Now that I’ve experienced it, I can never leave it.

I thirst for more. I long to feel the power behind His love. The comfort of His Spirit. The assurance of His care. The abundance of His grace.

Christ’s love is who I am. I wake up to it and rest in it. It’s where I find my hope in the darkness and where I find laughter in the light. I look to it like a new day dawning. It brings tears to my eyes like the beauty of nature.

Can you see it in the singing of the birds? In the smell of the grass. In the warmth of the sun on your shoulder. The  gentle breeze on a spring day whispers, “I love you…” from a powerful and intentional Creator.

God loves you! God loves you! God loves you! What more reason do you need to sing out? What more reason do you need to worship Him? What more reason do you need to share the Good News with someone else?

I need your love like I need water. I need your love like I need breath inside of my lungs.
