God is Calling on Line One

By: Pastor Jarren Rogers

“When you have a sense of calling…there is something deep and enriching when you realize it isn’t just a casual choice, it’s a divine calling.” – Charles Spurgeon

God is calling each and every one of us.

Even before you were born God had a plan for you.

He knows everything: past, present, and future.

He has a purpose for each and every one of us. It’s our job to find that to which God is calling us and follow it wholeheartedly.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” (Jeremiah 29:11).

His calling can come in different ways.

Maybe it comes in a lightning bolt moment. All at once the call of God can come on us. In one awesome, spiritual experience God can reveal his call on our life. The almost audible voice of God speaks to us and declares his will for us.

Maybe it comes gradually. Over a long period of time we can discern the will of God. Different experiences and events in our lives shape and uncover God’s ultimate call on our lives.

No matter how God’s calling eventually comes, it is always revealed after a person is diligently and consistently seeking Him.

God never reveals his call for someone who doesn’t have a relationship with Him.

It is only by digging into his word, by praying, and by drawing closer to God that we can receive his will for us.

If you don’t know God’s call on your life, seek God.

He will reveal it to you.

Parents: Share Jeremiah 29:11 with your children. Explain to them that God loves them and He has a plan for them.
